@A. Walton: That's just plain silly in my opinion. If the file system doesn't support 'proper' permissions that's none of our business. That's the file system I choose to use, I know it's limitations. It's all fine for the Linux world to try and solve this - but it's not a *nix problem. It's a windows one. I think it would be wrong to implement something which makes users feel that VFAT has something that it doesn't.
