Two comments: - First, this is not ubuntu (or even linux) specific. I have the exact same problem when I boot opensolaris 2008.05 / snv_86 (which uses nvidia driver version 173.14.09) on my machine that has a Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300. - Second, there was a similar, but much more persistent and severe problem with other cards (in my case a GeForce 8600 GT), which involved the decorations not being there at all (except on one window, IIRC). Upgrading to the latest hardy updates *does* fix this particular problem, but not the corrupted title bar issue.
