Public bug reported:

Using Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Alpha1 64 bit on an AMD64 PC.
Go to Multimedia - Video Player. Dragon Player window opens with an Error box
- 'xine could not be successfully initialised. Dragon Player will now exit.
You can identify what is wrong with your xine installation using the xine-check
command at a command-'. Can't see the rest of the message as can't scroll the
message down (all I get is an hourglass). Press OK and the application closes.
If I use xine-check in the bash terminal (my assumption) it comes up with an
error.

** Affects: kdemultimedia (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
