Public bug reported:
Just testing on an Acer Travelmate 6292 with Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 1, fully
updated. It plays some sound but you can hardly hear it, even with
maximum system volume.
cat /proc/asound/cards says:
+ 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xf0500000 irq 22
1 [pcsp ]: PC-Speaker - pcsp
Internal PC-Speaker at port 0x61
head -n 1 /proc/asound/card0/codec* says
==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 <==
Codec: Realtek ALC268
==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#1 <==
Codec: LSI ID 1040
I also tested with Ubuntu 8.04, and volume was a little better there.
** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
