Public bug reported:

Though both flgrx and xgl are installed,
- glrxinfo segfault
- xgl is detected as not present (command compiz, for instance)

However, they work when they are launched as root.

The bug is similar as existing ones for the non-root part, but only a few
people talk
about the root well-working aspect.

Advice such as
- reinstall compiz (with remove --purge)
- compiz --replace
are not working

Card: ATI (of course :d and that's why I tried xgl too) radeon X300
Ubuntu : Hardy Heron, last upgrade (xorg, ... from 11/07/2008)

Example of consequences
------------------------------------------
- compiz is only working when launched as root
- advanced option (usage of projectors, ...) become tricky

** Affects: xserver-xgl
