Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

Xrandr on the ati driver doesn't detect my external monitor (Samsung Syncmaster
710T 17") properly.
xrandr shows:
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768

My monitor supports 1280x1024 resolution. Xrandr doesn't see it.
Xorg log file shows that this resolution has been detected.
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 on HP nx6325 laptop.
