Public bug reported:
hello.
i still have no working bluetooth in hardy.
i have done some extensive reading and experimentation but no dice.
basically im trying to get my phone to talk to the pc, which worked fine under
gutsy (now using hardy) both the phone (a vodafone 810) and the usb dongle are
working (they work fine under windows, and worked fine under gutsy) but when it
comes to paring the phone and the pc the system freezes completely, nothing
works, keyboard and mouse dont respond (the lights on the keyboard flash, the
caps lock etc) and the only way to get out of it is to press the reset button
on the tower.
i had thought it may be something on my system, but at present i have 4 pc's on
a network and 3 of them are running ubuntu, and this occurs on all of them.
i have tried to to pair the pc to the phone using the pc, but i cant
seem to figure out how to do it, there doesnt seem to be an option to
pair the 2 from the pc, as i have mentioned the 2 devices can see each
other with no problems, so i dont know why they wont pair.
i have tried with other bluetooth enabled phones and this error happens with
all of them, so i can only assume its something to do with the bluetooth setup
in ubuntu, i am using kubuntu as is one of the other systems, and one is using
ubuntu, and as i have said it happens on all 3 systems.
the bluetooth dongle is working fine (works under windows with no issues) its a
basic dongle (comes with a broadcom driver disc) the phone is a vodafone 810
(not the best phone in the world, but i like it, and it is also working)
please feel free to ask me for any other info, as im not sure what i should
include.
cheers
