I can confirm that font rendering for OpenOffice in Edgy is completely ugly. This seems to be an inherited bug from Debian, see
http://www.mail-archive.com/debian- openoffice%40lists.debian.org/msg11965.html While in Debian Etch at least antialiasing is somewhat working in OpenOffice, which makes fonts not a complete pain in the eyes (but it's very close to - damn unsharp), not even antialiasing seems to work for OpenOffice in Edgy (completely up-to-date). Btw, I'm running OpenOffice under KDE in both Edgy and Etch. ** Also affects: openoffice (upstream) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Also affects: freetype (Debian) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- OpenOffice doesn't hint fonts in Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/67618 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
