OK, I've done some extra tests. If I re-enable the bootsplash, booting
is fast.

I will summarize my new tests:

I)  Bootsplash: enabled
Boot time: 1 minute 56 seconds (well, not so fast, the splash disappeared 
during the boot process, so I could finally see some of the boot messages).
Boot log: see dmesg.good

II) Bootsplash: disabled
Boot time: 6 minutes 31 seconds
Boot log: see dmesg.bad
