on my machine exists a udev rule for garmin that must been created by the
system (or qlandkarte-deb?) (or gpsbabel-deb?):

SYSFS{idVendor}=="091e", SYSFS{idProduct}=="0003", MODE="666"
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$
---
so that's why i get:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsusb
Bus 003 Device 005: ID 091e:0003 Garmin International GPSmap (various models)
---
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /dev/bus/usb/003/005
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 189, 260 2008-07-14 16:30 /dev/bus/usb/003/005
