Public bug reported:

Ubuntu: 8.04.1 (server amd64)
Version: 8.14.2-2build1

After 'apt-get install sendmail', removing the package (and autoremove)
leaves files around.

The following files are still present, after removing the package:

        alternatives/aliases.5.gz
        alternatives/lib.sendmail
        alternatives/mailq
        alternatives/mailq.1.gz
        alternatives/newaliases
        alternatives/newaliases.8.gz
        alternatives/runq
        alternatives/runq.8.gz
        alternatives/sendmail
        alternatives/sendmail-msp
        alternatives/sendmail-msp.8.gz
        alternatives/sendmail-mta
        alternatives/sendmail-mta.8.gz
        alternatives/sendmail.8.gz
        cron.d/sendmail
        cron.daily/sendmail
        dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/sendmail
        inetd.conf
        init.d/sendmail
        ld.so.cache
        logcheck/ignore.d.paranoid/
        logcheck/ignore.d.server/sendmail
        logcheck/ignore.d.workstation/
        logcheck/violations.ignore.d/
        mail/
        network/if-down.d/sendmail
        network/if-post-down.d/sendmail
        network/if-up.d/sendmail
        pam.d/smtp
        ppp/ip-down.d/sendmail
        ppp/ip-up.d/sendmail
        rc0.d/K19sendmail
        rc1.d/K19sendmail
        rc2.d/S21sendmail
        rc3.d/S21sendmail
        rc4.d/S21sendmail
        rc5.d/S21sendmail
        rc6.d/K19sendmail

In particular, /etc/cron.d/sendmail causes a cron jobs to run every 20 mins,
which fails as the binaries it refers to are no longer present on the system.
