Yes, I have seen, that the file is uncompressed after sending it in
for bug report.
But after testing with new downloaded pci.ids which is compressed(gzip),
I get the same problem.

After investigating a bit more I have found out that file-roller is
unable to decompress files, which are gzip compressed but have
not the extension .gz.

Try it by yourself.
Compress a file. Remove the extension .gz. Try to open it
with file-roller. You will get an error.
