On my test machine hibernation and suspend are working fine with Edgy. But my point was that there are scenarios imaginable and existent where it would be better to strictly prevent using hibernation/suspend.
In Breezy I realised this the way I described above. In Dapper and Edgy this trick simply does no such thing.
