I found a fix for the key repeat issue I was experiencing, and thought I'd share.
I added the kernel boot parameter "notsc" to my grub kernel line, and that fixed it. With this, I could also remove the "psmouse.rate=40" and other suggested settings listed in the thread. So, try adding "notsc" to your kernel boot. BTW, my system is: Dell D820, T7400 (Core 2 duo 2.16GHz) 2 Gb mem 100 Gb hdd GeForce Go 7400 Gentoo 2006.1 (2.6.18-r1 and ~amd64) Note: There is a kernel config option, CONFIG_X86_TSC, but there does not seem to be a way to disable it since it is enabled by default. -- Keyboard random repeat and dropped key presses https://launchpad.net/bugs/39315 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
