Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xgamma

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron with Gnome Desktop 2.22.1. It's a fresh
install.
Package x11-xserver-utils version 7.3+2 is installed. It's the latest
(according to synaptic).
My monitor doesn't have a good brightness setting, which forces me to use a
gamma setting of 2.5 using xgamma. I've added 'xgamma -gamma 2.5' to the boot
using System >> Preferences >> Sessions.

While on the Gnome Desktop (no fullscreen), there's no problem for
hours. But if I open a fullscreen application (like Battle for Wesnoth,
Dosbox, etc. ), the gamma settings reset to 0 after every 15 minutes
exactly (i've calculated).

It doesn't show in the terminal though.
The command 'xgamma' will result in the following but the screen is very dark.
-> Red  2.500, Green  2.500, Blue  2.500

But if i run 'xgamma -gamma 2.5' again, the screen will again become bright
(i.e. setting 2.5).
This is really annoying as I've to open the terminal and run this command every
15 minutes!

PS: This also happened on my old OS Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon.
