thanks, i'll try out the new driver, and attach the log later. for now, i can attach current xorg.0.log and xorg.conf after dpkg- reconfigure.
as i am looking at the log file, would it be possible that the problem is caused by the driver using Output VGA as the primary device, and hence the LCD monitor as the secondary device? because i think that if yes, then the "fbc disabled" could be translated into human speech like "let the TV (secondary screen) handle its brightness on its own; i can shut down" but i'm not a developer, so i do not know. ** Attachment added: "xorg.0.log using ubuntu hardy's default intel driver (2.2.1)" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/16166533/Xorg.0.log -- laptop backlight is turning off https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/247315 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
