Public bug reported:
Running Ubuntu 8.04.1 with all the latest updates. This includes
2.6.24-19-generic kernel. I think ever since I've upgraded to this
kernel I my sound just randomly stops working while using the computer.
This happens both on my desktop (SB Audigy 2 ZS) and my Thinkpad T60
(called HDA Intel, Analog Devices AD1981) laptop.
When I try to run "Sound" (the sound manager under System->Preferences) I
sometimes get this error:
Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
But when it does run and I try and test the sound using ALSA or OSS I get this
error:
gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat:
Failed to connect: Connection refused
Something is definitely wrong as this never happened before the latest
few package updated including that kernel.
