I have the same problem here. my kernel version is 2.6.24-19-generic

I tried using the network manager, or manually using the terminal, but I never
got an IP. I tried using wifi-radar to assign a static IP. It did assign the
IP, but there was no connection, it still showed that the AP is "Not
Associated". So I guess wifi-radar just faked it!
What could the problem be???
