Public bug reported:

Since a few days or weeks the lock screen function isn't working on my
laptop anymore but I didn't changed any configuration or something like
that.

I'm at edgy up to date, gnome-screensaver is 2.16.1-0ubuntu1.

Here's what I've checked:

ps -A | grep screen after booting up:
 5418 ? 00:00:00 gnome-screensav

After that I tried "Lock Screen" from the power menu. Nothing happened.
Now gnome-screensaver is gone. So I've started it again in a gnome
terminal and again clicked on "Lock Screen". That gave me this message
in the gnome-terminal:

The program 'gnome-screensaver' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 2995 error_code 2 request_code 135 minor_code 15)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Anything I can do?
