Today I downloaded and burned ubuntu 6.10 Release Candidate. The installer was unable to to start xorg like it did before.
I manually changed xorg.conf from Driver "ati" to Driver "radeon" and gnome started. I run some applications for a while and it didn't crash as Stefano reported.
