Well, this message went away for sometime, as i was busily pursuing other problems, mostly lockups that were heat related.
I also managed to have to install a lot of packages that I had missing md5sums for (unrelated, of course, but what the hey) as well as to try and get my nvidia back (back, using 173.12 but it's having trouble starting on boot) and then I noticed my log file filling up in the same fashion. Looks like it's been printing the same error message that it was doing before. And I don't have any way for the system to recognize USB events - like stick or mp3 players being plugged in. I booted up in Gnome when I was trying to get the nvidia to work and I distinctly remember it saying "unable to initialize HAL" or something to that effect. I'm afraid to reboot now (that has caused the issue to go away, at least for a while) because it may be difficult to get my desktop acceleration back. But it also seems I'll have to reboot soon because I can't get to my usb sticks either. And my syslog is 6 megs and growing. :( -- Console kit deamon can't acquire freedesktop.org https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
