** Description changed: System lockups while browsing an OpenOffice document, screen gets either - gargled output allover or nothing just happens. System stayed responsive - with cazy graphics so I could reboot my machine (HP Compaq 8710w with - Nvidia Quadro FX1600M). Second time this happened (about 3 mins after - the first incident) I had to power-off. Attached relevant bits of - kern.log + gargled output all over or nothing just happens.
