Now the casper team might benefit from some code from live-initramfs to fix the "toram" flag; but maybe there is some other reason that the "toram" kernel line parameter doesn't work with casper because other users have mentioned this issue in their forum. It is also possible that some people on the casper team know what causes the missing ttys; but currently, it is an live-initramfs issue. I had hoped that someone who knows how upstart works had seen this before and could comment on it.
