Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

I took a desktop screenshot today, and it ended up being 15 megabytes.

This seemed rather large, so I opened it up in Gimp and then saved it
with default settings (ie, compression level 9). It reduced down to 2.1
megabytes.

This is a huge savings, and compressing these shouldn't be difficult or
expensive in terms of time or cpu usage. We could, for instance, run pngcrush
on every screenshot after saving.

** Affects: gnome-utils (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
