  -OOo does not crash on machines using Kubuntu and intel or nvidia video.
  -Video card is using using r128 driver -> Xorg.0.log attached (contains AIGLX 
errors)
  -In OOo, a crash can be triggered by a right click, menu button, typing in an 
empty document, opening an empty document.
  -Recovering from crash, OOo re-opens itself automatically and presents the 
recovery dialog, when trying to recover the document, open office crashes.
  -This may be related to bug #209478 or #209478 (private bug which I do not 
have access to <- subscribe me)
  
  Current workaround:
- Going back to Question #6 - Problem was resolved by turning off GUI effects. 
This was done by going to:

  Kmenu > System Settings > Appearance > Effects
  and turning off "Enable GUI Effects"
  
  This is a user setting therefore it will affect all users on a machine
  and they will have to individually turn this off. I would suggest that
  GUI effects be turned off by default if using this video driver. While
  the bug is being fixed, if anyone knows how, please provide instructions
  on how to turn off "GUI effects" for all users on a machine (at once)
  and by default for new users.
