This bug is undecided!? This is VERY critical. with b43: Tx-Power=27 dBm with ndiswrapper (8.04 makes using ndiswrapper very impractical): 32 dBm
No comparison. Range with ndiswrapper? 15 m+... and range with b43? hah. I'm more mobile with a 5 m ethernet cord! Some wireless! Now, I've seen posts regarding this tx-power issue with Hardy betas, so this is not a new issue. I think we have a problem here. Of course, nobody has any obligation to fix this. Ubuntu is mostly Free and certainly free, and I am thankful for that. It is my primary OS, and for me, there are no alternatives. However, this issue is more than slightly troublesome. It would be good if the bug can be addressed in a timely manner from this point on... Well, maybe not timely, since it has been a few months. Oh well.
