Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-backports-modules-intrepid-generic

I have installed Intrepid Alpha3 version of Kubuntu and I found the
options to enable kwin 3d desktop effects. However I also found the
ubuntu compirz setup tool in the applications list (I think under
utilities or system). This is potentially confusing as KDE4.1 should use
kwin's 3d desktop by default. If users really want compirz instead they
can install the package themselves. If they do have compirz and kwin
(say they install the gnome desktop as well as the KDE4.1 desktop) the
ubuntu compirz utility should allow for the following:-

1) Apply compirz settings only to the desktop user is currently running in (eg
if running in gnome desktop do not replace kwin in kde desktop.)
2) If applying compirz to the kde desktop make sure kwin 3d effects is disabled
and is reinstated if compirz is later turned off.
3) maybe hide compirz utility/options when running kde desktop or at least make
it clear kwin has it's own 3d effects.

** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

Should NOT have both kwin-3d and compriz options available by default
