Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

ubuntu 8.04.1 core duo 2 E6550, g33 chipset integrated graphic card. 2.24.19
generic kernel
I have a problem after change any setting in login window menu (as I see, it
runs gdmsetup) than press reboot or shutdown on gnome panel. Computer hang up
for a minute before shutdown.
I removed usplash and in console instead of "the system is going down
now...bla-bla" i saw the dump of gdm crush,
but in my syslog i can see only these last entries:
gdm[pid]: GLib-CRITICAL: g_hash_table_lookup_extended: assertion `hash_table !=
NULL' failed
gdm[pid]: WARNING: Request for invalid configuration key xdmcp/Enable=false
The bug exist in gdm 2.20.6 and 2.20.7 (from Hardy proposed repo)

** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
