That looks like it is working. Thank you. Guess I was having a Windows
moment.

Thanks for your bugreport.
Could you please enable the "universe" repository and try the upgrade

Status in “update-manager” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete
Bug description:
I am new to the Ubuntu operating system.
The hardware that I was installing on is an HP Pavilion 8562 that has no other
operating system option to go forward.
Previous operating systems, Win 98, and Win2000. Since this system runs on a
pentium 3 processor at 500 MHZ I thought XUBUNTU 8.04 would be a good fit.
Being a GUI oriented user I found the best way to start was to install 6.06
first. I then proceeded to use the upgrade manager to slowly work my way up.
The first error looks like it affected gnome. During the upgrade from 6.06 to
6.10 there was a file libgnome2-perl reported as not installed. I found this
file with synaptic and installed it. I also installed alien but have not used
it yet. I will try to include the log files requested for reporting the issue
from 6.10 to 8.04 LTS or will forward them on as requested. Thank you for any
asistance you can give.
Regards,
Bob Appleton
