Try run Ubuntu Gutsy in Live Cd mode , (It's work, if not how install ubuntu in your PC) open a and: $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg copy the xorg.conf on a floppy: reboot your Pc without CD mode and start in vesa mode and copy xorg.conf of floppy on xorg in Hardy or Intrepid and reboot.
