Public bug reported:

software-properties' statistics tab text could be improved. Right now it
says that the list of "installed software" will be sent "anonymously".
This doesn't gives users enought information about what's being sent. It
also uses some words that I don't think users' understand or care, like
"users experience", or "statistical". Aditionally, users may want to
visit popcon.ubuntu.com, but there're no links.

(as a side note: it's really neccesary to send the statistics 1 time per
week? 1 time per month looks more sane)

Proposal: "To improve Ubuntu please take part in the Ubuntu Popularity
Contest. If you do so, Ubuntu will recolect the list of software you've
currently installed and how often it was used and will be sent to the
Ubuntu Project on a weekly basis. The results are used to know what
software our users like more, so we improve the support for the popular
applications that the Ubuntu community likes more.

Ubuntu will NOT recolect personal information or any other kind of data,
sensible or not. Your privacy will not be vulnerated. All the
information recolected will be sent anonymously so the Ubuntu Project
will not know where it comes from.

o Yes, I want to take part in the Ubuntu Popularity Contest

Visit http://popcon.ubuntu.com to see the results of the Contest"

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
