Hi: I went to the Gimp Web Site, to see if there was something I could do. I went into terminal, and used apt-get install gimp, and this downloaded and installed the 3 missing packages that Update could not find. So now Gimp is working very well. I also downloaded the recommended packages, and Gimp is working better than it has in a long time. However Update has some sort of error in it, in that it could not find the 3 Gimp packages, while apt-get could find them.
The packages are: gimp-data_2.4.6-1ubuntu1~gutsy1_all.deb gimp_2.4.6-1ubuntu1~gutsy1_i386.deb gimp-python_2.4.6-1ubuntu1~gutsy1_i386.deb for some reason update in 7.10 cannot find these packages, and so it does a partial upgrade, which results in this error.
