** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xchat-gnome

  Hello,

I started using Ubuntu 8.04 recently. I installed XChat from GUI, which
turned out to be xchat-gnome. I expected it to support multiple idents (equals
to user name in XChat) because I'm also using a bouncer account that requires
different ident response.
I could not find this feature (user name option for any network) from
xchat-gnome, which always uses my login name as ident. I apt-got the plain
xchat which works perfectly. I see this as dropping one of the original xchat
features from the gnome-version. There is no easy other option to get multiple
ident responses with IRC.
+
+ Added observation: xchat and xchat-gnome are sharing the same config-
+ files. Setting a ident with xchat for a network results changes to
+ ~/.xchat2/servlist_.conf (entry "U=name"). After that xchat-gnome should
+ not be used to access that network.
