Public bug reported: I am attempting to work around https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/244429 since no one is responding to it and I can't put my computer onto wireless until it's fixed.
I downloaded http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Download compat- wireless-2.6.24.tar.bz2 on 2008-07-30, unpacked it, built it, and installed it. When I type "make unload" to unload the buggy iwl4965 driver, the kernel generates the attached oops. I expected the kernel to unload the driver so I could load the new driver.
