Well packages for Ubuntu exists and have been uploaded to REVU. (Bug: 105452)
As for nautilus integration. The 1.1.0 release offers a simple desktop /mime-type association that allows mounting of images quite easy. On the mailiglist Nautilus integration has been discussed and this simple solution was chosen.
