Public bug reported:

When installing Ubuntu 6.xx up to 8.04, my sound card was never configured
properly. My soundchip is the popular ALC880 that comes with the Sony Vaio
model VGC-RA104. I had to configure the alsa-base file and add the line
"options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-digout" because it didn't recognize
properly that it was the "6stack-digout" version.
It would be great if the installation script would recognize this card
properly: I don't really need it because I already know how to fix this
problem, but it would certainly add-up to the "just works" feature when trying
to convince new users. The previous owner of my computer was drawn away from
Ubuntu because of this..

Please ask if more informations are needed, I would also be glad to test
the possible fixes in my computer.
