Yes, there does still seem to be some inconsistencies in various things are performed by the installs of this O/S.
I just noticed recently that when I did 2 consecutive installs of the Ubuntu O/S on the very same computer that on one install the visual effects was set to NORMAL but when I went back and reinstalled the O/S again after WIPING the drive completely clean (and ZERO changes had been made to the hardware of the computer) the visual effects was set to NONE after the install.
