Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-20-386
If I use the nvidia-glx-new driver package currently in hardy-proposed
(version 169.12+2.6.24.14-20.46) ddc information is somewhat reported
incorrectly, and I can set only resolutions up-to 1024x768 with low
refresh rates. Using the previous driver in hardy-updates (version
169.12+2.6.24.13-19.45), I had my 1600x1200 at 85hz.
A workaround is to use nvidia-settings to configure the resolution.
Nvidia-settings recognises ddc information correctly. I attach the two
log files (using the old and new display driver), the xorg.conf that was
generated by ubuntu, and the new one I wrote using nvidia-settings. I
also attach my lspci -vvvn, and the output from "sudo ddcprobe" which
seems to indicate a problem.
