I don't think that it is bug 30291. The last upgrade (6.10) seams to have broken firestarter. It worked fine before the upgrade, and immediately after the upgrade it didn't. I did some background checking on my system. It appears that the only way to run the program now is to enter a terminal (root) window and run it from there. Unfortunately I have been out of reading code for way too long to be able to sit through the steps.
I know, Beta normally means Bugs. Sort of expected. Hey, at least it still has less than Microsoft. >> >Okay, after heavy forum searching I found >this fix/workaround: > in a terminal, type: > xhost +local: >then exit the terminal and firestarter then will start. >This is new. It also must done every time the >system is restarted. << Maybe "xhost +local:" was in the code to be run every reboot and someone removed it. -- last round of updates and now firestarter will not start https://launchpad.net/bugs/47662 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
