I don't think that it is bug 30291.  The last upgrade (6.10) seams to
have broken firestarter.  It worked fine before the upgrade, and
immediately after the upgrade it didn't.  I did some background checking
on my system.  It appears that the only way to run the program now is to
enter a terminal (root) window and run it from there.  Unfortunately I
have been out of reading code for way too long to be able to sit through
the steps.

I know, Beta normally means Bugs.  Sort of expected.  Hey, at least it
still has less than Microsoft.

Maybe "xhost +local:" was in the code to be run every reboot and someone
removed it.
