Intrepid actually is using newer drivers - 2.3.2. magor I think any
similarity in symptoms you're seeing with Pete is entirely coincidental.
Also, I've noticed that the 965GM family covers a lot of completely
different hardware, and issues are often to a particular subsystem
vendor's pci id. I'm guessing that the 965GM in Pete's MacAir is
completely different from magor's 6910p. I also have a 965GM laptop
(8086:2a02/1028:01f3) and am not able to reproduce this problem on
Intrepid Alpha 3 + updates.
Fwiw, we did have an issue running compiz with -intel, but the problem
was solved a week or so ago.
