fbvidal, Your logs are from gutsy2hardy and don't indicate a problem with proftpd package. Please open a new bug report with your logs and a complete description of the problem.
jrkettle, Please provide the edgy2feisty logs, if you don't have these any more you can close this bug report by clicking on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status to "Invalid".
