Hello, 
I have found the sulution to my problem. It looks that the problem was 
connected with my mother board (DFI AD77), which is rather old now. With the 
help from other DFI motherboards users I have managed to launch and install 
ubuntu. It looks that this is very common with DFI motherboards. Solution was 
when the CD boots, you had to add a few boot parameters: noacpi nolapic
