I have an iBook with radeon 9550. glxinfo says dri is working, but glxgears gives me about 25-30fps + 100% cpu usage. Unfortunately I'm not sure if it worked well before in dapper. I am sure, though, that about 6-9 months ago when I still used gentoo on this machine I had r300 driver fully working pretty well with this card.
