It appears to be the snap size that is the problem for keeping the icons aligned. I am not at all familiar with the code, but I did notice that the constants for snap sizes are 78 pixels horizontally, and 20 pixels vertically.
I changed the vertical snap size from 20 to 80, and it gave me a nice grid to work with for placing icons. One more thing to note is that icons can be placed in the same grid location and overlap. Is this considered a separate bug? I am attaching a patch against nautilus' svn repository. Feel free to use it as is, or use a different constant. ** Attachment added: "Changed icon snap size" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/16623325/libnautilus-changed-icon-snap-size.diff.txt -- "Keep Aligned" on GNOME desktop doesn't align all icons properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/32577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
