My laptop (Toshiba Satellite SA40-211) doesn't power off after I shut
down Ubuntu.
I'm using Hardy Heron with all updates applied. The Laptop is a dual
boot system with windows XP. After shutting down XP, the laptop always
powers down the normal way. When I use ubuntu, it almost never does.
