Same problem, in general: UBUNTU boot splash shows, progress bar reaches the end, system will hang for a while with a flashing cursor, then I get the blue screen that says X could not start. Checked the error messages, got: "ATI: PCI Mach64 in slot 1:0:0 could not be detected ATI: PCI Mach64 in slot 1:0:1 could not be detected Fatal server error No screens found"
Neither Install nor Safe Graphics Mode work. Changing the VGA settings manually doesn't work either. With 6.06, I would have to go into safe graphics mode to get the live CD's X to start, but it would work. This one won't. 6.10 i386 Live CD Processor: 3.2GHz Intel Core Duo Video Card: ATI Radeon X600 Monitor: 20" Dell Wsomething2007 -- Install 6:10 RC Failure: Black screen at Live Desktop Stage https://launchpad.net/bugs/67487 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
