Public bug reported: 1.lsb_release -rd: Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release: 8.04
uname -a: 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Fri Jul 11 23:41:49 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux 2. Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1, Copyright (c) 1998 - 2008 mozilla.org and cpufrequtils 002: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2006 Report errors and bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED], please. analyzing CPU 0: driver: acpi-cpufreq CPUs which need to switch frequency at the same time: 0 hardware limits: 600 MHz - 1.80 GHz available frequency steps: 1.80 GHz, 1.60 GHz, 1.40 GHz, 1.20 GHz, 1000 MHz, 800 MHz, 600 MHz available cpufreq governors: userspace, powersave, ondemand, conservative, performance current policy: frequency should be within 1.80 GHz and 1.80 GHz. The governor "performance" may decide which speed to use within this range. current CPU frequency is 1.80 GHz. 3. When viewing multiple flash sites Firefox uses 100% cpu and the cpu temperature raises to 65˚C. One would expect that some programm (like acpi) would manage cpu fan speed and tell the fan to turn faster on high temperature. 4. Instead the cpu fan turns with constant rpms no matter how high the cpu temperature. On some point the system freezes and hard reboot is needed. The only thing that somehow manages the temperature seems to be cpufreqd witch, when cpu temperature goes to ~60˚C, drops the frequency to 1.40 GHz. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: cpu laptop overheating temperature -- laptop overheating https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256299 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
