This should be a pulseaudio issue.

Using mplayer on test file.

It defaults ao to "[pulse] 44100Hz 2ch s16le (2 bytes per sample)" and
sound is accelerated.

I have tried to set AO to "raw" alsa and got sound playing fine:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ mplayer -ao alsa invhw.ogg 
[skip]
AO: [alsa] 48000Hz 2ch s16le (2 bytes per sample)
[skip]

AO line now displays rate correctly - 48k.
