Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting This is a new Asus P5E-VM HDMI, Intel G35 chipset, generic 1024x768 LCD monitor. Fresh stock Hardy install worked fine, ran updates, computer quit booting. It gets just past the splash screen, and I get a blank screen instead of a login screen. How complete is the X failure? + Does ctrl+alt+f1 take you to a console? nope + Does ctrl+alt+backspace restart X? nope + Does mouse pointer still move? nope + Does the keyboard LED come on when hitting the CAPSLOCK key? + Can you ssh into the system from another computer? no, no, can't ping the machine I can still boot fine from the LiveCD or into single-user mode from the HD, just X doesn't work. Will attach more info shortly. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Xorg hangs on boot after upgrade to 2:2.2.1-1ubuntu13.6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256685 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
