Public bug reported:
1.0.7-3 fixes the following packaging-related Debian bugs which were all
present in 1.0.5-1 (the version currently in intrepid):
462106 [python-xapian] python-xapian: Laxist Depends: on libxapian15
493941 [php5-xapian] php5-xapian does not work out of the box, php config file
lacks .ini extension
493944 [php5-xapian] php5-xapian: xapian.php is not in the include_path
Updating would also update the debian packaging to standards-version
3.8.0.
The upstream changes from 1.0.5-1 include improvements to documentation,
examples, and testcases,
and wrappers for open-ended value ranges, which were added to xapian-core in
1.0.6.
Upstream 1.0.7 has been out for 4 weeks now, while 1.0.6 (which added the new
wrappers) was
released nearly 5 months ago, so the changes have seen wider testing.
There are no Ubuntu changes in the current intrepid package.
